This article aims to introduce the student support offered by UFV.

Located at the Fraser Valley in British Columbia, Canada, the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) is a fully accredited, public university that enrolls approximately 15,000 students per year. UFV has campuses and locations in Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Mission, Hope, Agassiz, and a growing presence in Chandigarh, India.

UFV is well-recognized not only for student success but also for its comprehensive support for international students, ensuring that students will obtain a positive and worthwhile experience while studying at UFV.

Well-rounded academic support

The Academic Success Centre (ASC) provides students with free student-focused tutoring, workshops, online resources, and support programs to help students obtain academic success. Students can easily book an appointment through the online system. For students who are facing math or statistics problems, they can enroll in the virtual course offered by the Math & Stats Centre. Students can simply drop in online without an appointment!

In addition to the abovementioned tutoring and online courses, UFV also offers various Academic Peer Mentorship Programs to support students’ success in their study at UFV.


Life support and personal development

Academic success is undoubtedly an essential part of students’ lives, but UFV acknowledges the importance of students’ mental health and personal development. The Peer Resource and Leadership Centre (PSLC) aims to offer holistic help to students. By providing one-on-one peer support sessions and health & wellness programming, UFV is dedicated to promoting students’ positive mental health while they pursue their academic goals.


Generous financial support

  • Each year, more than 800 international students from over 70 countries will start their study journey with UFV. As a university that understand the need and the challenges faced by international students, UFV provides international students with financial support. For 2021, UFV is pleased to offer entrance scholarships to award academic excellence:A $20,000 International Excellence Entrance Scholarship (Renewable) to 10 of the top international applicants.
  • A $5,000 International Regional Entrance Scholarship to 30 of the top international applicants.
  • A $5,000 British Columbia (BC) High School Entrance Scholarship to 5 of the top BC high school graduates.

*For the above entrance scholarships, students do not need to apply separately. Due to the first-come, first-serve basis, students are encouraged to apply for their ideal programs as soon as possible.
