The Best of Canada’s East & West: Yorkville University

Canada remains as one of the top destinations for international students due to its inclusivity, stability, and quality of education. The country has a diverse international student pool representing 186 nations (statistic from 2017).

However, international students tend to congregate in two of Canada’s most liveable cities – Toronto and Vancouver, which host 24% and 17% of the total international student population, respectively. The statistics above are not surprising. Toronto and Vancouver are economic hubs of Canada and are host to top educational institutions of the country. They offer not only high-quality education and internship prospects but also a vibrant international student life.

Yorkville University campuses are strategically located at the heart of Vancouver and Toronto. The Vancouver campus is specifically situated in New Westminster, ~25minutes train ride to downtown, and is a short walk away from the quayside of Fraser river. There you can find tons of local cafes, restaurants delivering all kinds of cuisines, student-friendly pubs, and various accommodation options from affordable ones to upscale units facing the river. Tipperary park, only an 8-minute walk away from the campus, is a perfect place for a short nature walk, or a tennis match with your peers. Towards the Fraser river, you will reach Westminster Pier park after walking for ~10minutes, and this park is popular for students who want to relax by the water, play sports, or have a picnic with friends. The campus is one block away from the train station, making it convenient for students to explore the rest of Metro Vancouver and visit popular areas like Stanley Park, Kitsilano Beach, Vancouver Aquarium, and Rogers Arena, among others.

On the east coast, Yorkville’s Toronto campus, located in Vaughan, can be reached by a ~40minutes train ride from downtown. Vaughan is one of the fastest-growing municipalities and the fifth-largest city in the Greater Toronto Area. As such, the campus is surrounded by tons of options for accommodation, dining, and entertainment. The reliable transportation system of the city enables students to reach downtown fast and explore popular places like Eaton Centre, CN Tower, Royal Ontario Museum, and more.

In terms of the programs offered, Yorkville’s Vancouver campus offers all five Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) programs (general, and four specialized programs), while Toronto offers the BBA in Project Management, and the Bachelor of Interior Design. All of these undergraduate programs are also available for online delivery, together with all the graduate programs offered by the university.

Yorkville focuses on providing quality programs that are flexible and fast-paced. The university delivers an enhanced learning experience through small class sizes, networking opportunities, and seasoned faculty members. Support for students in the form of 24/7 tutoring service, and academic writing assistance also exist to ensure student’s success in their studies.
