This article briefly introduces several outstanding Fanshawe alumni and the support Fanshawe provides to current students and alumni.

As one of the largest Colleges in Ontario, Fanshawe College has helped over 200,000 graduates pursue their careers and fulfill their dreams.

• Among Fanshawe’s graduates emerged several outstanding alumni who are living their dream career and making an impact in their field. Some of them firmly knew that Fanshawe was their destined school: After graduating from the Hotel Management Program in 1982, Mahmud Dhanani started his career managing hotels in Canada and the United States. Today, Mahmud Dhanani is the Vice President, Food and Beverage Business Optimization for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. He was accepted to McGill University for medicine and the University of Toronto for law when he applied for universities/colleges. However, to pursue his dream career, he chose to study hospitality at Fanshawe College.
• After graduating from the Music Industry Arts (MIA) Program, Deric Ruttan dug deep into the music industry, continuously and diligently writing songs. In 2014, one of Deric Ruttan’s song was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Country Song. He said, “I remember my high-school guidance counsellor giving me hell because I wouldn’t pick any other college or university for a second or third choice. But I knew if I didn’t get into Fanshawe. I didn’t want to go anywhere else”.

As a tight-knit college community, Fanshawe College continues to provide support to both current students and alumni.
