These programs are affordable and a great way to start your education in Canada, with most undergraduate semesters costing $7,000-$8,000, including fees.

Facilities, Recreation, and Supports

Durham College has two campuses. Most classes take place at the Oshawa campus, with trades and administration at the Whitby campus. The college has incredible facilities, including study spaces (many of which you can book online), a beautiful library, a 28,000 square-foot triple gym and big fitness centre, an indoor golf range, and incredibly, an e-sports gaming centre! If you are a fan of competitive gaming you can take the e-sports management program or even try out for the e-sports varsity team.

While getting involved in your community is important, and Durham College offers lots of opportunities for that, the most important part of student life is your safety and health. Student supports include academic advising and counselling, the access and support centre, accessibility services, career development, financial planning, and residence outreach workers. You will also have access to the health and dental centres, and Durham has the “are you okay” program providing easy supports to help students with mental health concerns.

Living in Residence

Durham College has two residence options, South Village and Simcoe Village, and they guarantee residence admission to all first-year students who apply for it. Residence fees range between $4,000-$9,000 for two semesters, and a full two-semester meal plan is $5,830, so you don’t ever have to cook. Each residence building has study lounges and TV rooms, and quick access to one of the two dining halls.

Residences are very safe, with secure keycard access, 24-hour camera surveillance, and front desk concierge. Each floor has three Floor Representatives, who the residents can elect, and they work with the resident advisors to plan weekly games, trips around the city, and more activities. You will be well-equipped to make friends with the other 1,300 students who live in residence.
