A Shortcut to Your Success: Western Sydney Technology College’s IT Programs

This article briefly introduces the IT programs offered by Western Sydney Technology College.

With the continuous progress and development of technology, the field of information technology is undeniably one of the most in-demand and relevant industries of this century. Both the high salary and bright prospects attract students to devote themselves to this field. However, in correspondence with the high wages, studying an IT-related major can also cost students a lot. Therefore, finding a high-quality IT program with affordable tuition is one of the main concerns of potential students.

Western Sydney Technology College (WSTC) is dedicated to offering students an affordable and efficient study to gain job-required knowledge and certifications, especially in the IT industry.

Programs and Qualifications

  • WSTC offers three IT programs at different levels:Certificate IV Information Technology Networking (ICT40418)
  • Diploma of Information Technology Networking (ICT50418)
  • Advanced Diploma of Network Security (ICT60215)

What makes WSTC’s programs stand out is the unique program design. WSTC’s programs cover fundamental knowledge of Information Technology Networking and involve job-required qualifications and optional certification pathways into vocational courses. This unique program design prepares WSTC students to be job-ready with new technologies and skills from leading vendors like Microsoft and Cisco. For example, students who enroll in the Diploma of Information Technology Networking program will focus on and prepare for Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) certification exams and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification exam.

In addition, for students who have previous learning experience or relevant qualifications, the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) assessment offered by WSTC will give them a chance to speed up the process of obtaining their diplomas. Students can attend a 6-month gap training through online learning to be qualified for an IT diploma.

Affordability and efficiency

Generally speaking, a bachelor’s degree in computer science normally needs students to dedicate four years of full-time study to finish the entire curriculum and master the required knowledge and skills. However, once students have sufficient knowledge and corresponding practical skills, they are also competent in the IT industry, even without a bachelor’s degree. WSTC’s 13-month programs (*19 months for the Advanced Diploma) in Network Security provide students the skills and training they need to land an entry-level job in the IT industry in a shortened period.

More importantly, WSTC is dedicated to providing students with a high-quality study at an affordable cost. Even the highest total tuition of the Network Security program offered by WSTC is still cheaper than one term tuition of some universities and colleges.
