Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology is a public, post-secondary Designated Learning Institute (DLI). It started in 1983 and it was formerly named Winnipeg Technical College. For the past 35 years, it has offered good quality education to secondary and post-secondary students. 

Academics

Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology offers more than 25 post-secondary certificates and five postgraduate programs in four work areas: Human Services, Skilled Trades, Business and Information Technology, and Health Care. Programs of study include Business Administrative Assistant, Software Developer, Medical Office Assistant, and Early Childhood Education Diploma. Meanwhile, post-graduate programs include Business Management Post-Graduate Certificate and International Business Post-Graduate Diploma. Programs offered at MITT are delivered in English. International Students

Different programs for international students offered at MITT are designed to get students prepared for employment after graduation. MITT not only provides the necessary education but also the additional skills that can be used as they take a step toward the real world. 

International Student Application
 
International students who wish to apply must first choose their desired program. They must have also completed high school or are expecting to complete it within 45 days of the program start date. They also need to submit the following requirements:
●    Program-specific admission requirements
●    English language proficiency requirement
●    Official high school/secondary transcript
●    Post-secondary academic documents
●    Copy of passport
●    Copy of Study Permit, Study Permit approval letter (IRCC Letter of Introduction), Work Permit, Co-op Work Permit, or Visitor Visa document(s)
●    Proof of name change (if applicable)
●    Proof of completion of other program admission requirements (if applicable)

International students also need a study permit if the program they selected is longer than six months.

It is also important to note that some programs have additional or specific requirements such as the following:
●    Updated immunization records
●    Police Information Check (PIC)
●    Child Abuse Registry Check
●    Adult Abuse Registry Check
●    Supplementary health care training

Scholarships

International students are eligible for some scholarships offered at the Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology. One of these is the MITT Graduate Awards, which is awarded based on the student's grades, practicum performance, leadership, as well as citizenship, and volunteerism. There are also the Mid-Term Scholarships, which automatically consider international students in a post-secondary trades or technical program. Eligibility will also be based on the student's grades as well as work skills at the mid-point of the academic year.
