Lake Catholic High School serves grades 9-12 and is located in a town called Mentor, a 15-minute drive from Cleveland, Ohio. Lake Catholic is a faith-based, co-ed school (not segregated by gender). Admissions are based on extracurricular activities, Church involvement, grades, a short-answer essay, and in some cases, test scores.
The philosophies of Lake Catholic High School include helping and encouraging students with their mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. The vision is formed around the school’s patron, St. Thomas Aquinas. Learning is student-focused and prioritizes knowledge, love, and relationship with God.
Many courses offered at Lake Catholic School are included in a college prep program, enabling students to study there and earn college credits and/or advanced placement. Classes offered can contribute to college degrees in fine arts, technology programs, and more; graduates study in over 11 states.

Accommodations and Supports
Lake Catholic High School provides all students with a Chromebook for their studies, as well as wireless internet throughout the campus. The grounds are 45-acres shared with St. John Vianney Parish, and have updated utilities and buildings, including:
- Five science laboratories
- Media Production Center
- Strength and Conditioning Center
- Cafeteria and snack shop
- Over 60 clubs and associations for students
- 21 sports teams (international students are able to play on F-1 visa while in high school, and J-1 visa for one year)
- Vivarium (outdoor teaching space with organic gardens)

Diverse Course Selection
Lake Catholic High School offers a wide range of courses (some with university credit) including 10 advanced placement courses, 24 honors courses, and 33 fine and performing arts courses. It also specializes in technology-forward courses.
Graduation Requirements
In order to graduate, students must complete 25 credits, where each credit includes two semesters of a course. The course categories are as follows:
- 4.0 Theology
- 4.0 English
- 4.0 Mathematics
- 3.0 Social Studies (must include .50 Historical Speech & Debate)
- 3.0 Science
- 2.0 World Languages
- 1.0 Fine & Performing Arts
- 0.5 Physical Education
- 0.5 Health
- 0.5 Financial Literacy
- 2.5 Electives
Additionally, students must complete 50 hours of community service.
Costs and Expenses
In the 2021-2022 school year, tuition is $28,500 USD. It is the fourth most affordable Diocesan-owned Catholic school in Ohio (out of 20), and the tuition fee has been the same for three years. There are many payment plans available for parents.
