Hampshire College has a unique feature as a college: it has Student-Driven Curriculum. This means that students have no majors and no departments. Hampshire believes that grades are not an accurate or effective measurement. Instead, a student's performance is assessed using faculty members' constructive, written feedback based on reviews of their projects, engagement in classes and community, writings, art, and more.
Fees
The price of tuition at Hampshire College is $52,714, while room and board rates are $8,520 and $5,912 respectively.
Financial Aid
Hampshire offers $31 million in funding for its grant and scholarship programs for new and returning students, and 95% of students receive some type of financial aid.

International students need to complete the CSS profile to apply for financial assistance from the college.

International Students’ Scholarships
Merit Scholarships
Hampshire College offers merit scholarships to international and undocumented applicants. No additional application is needed but applicants will be evaluated on academic and extracurricular achievements.
- International Scholar Award (Full Cost of Attendance) – one international student will be granted a scholarship to cover the full cost of stay while studying up to eight semesters including costs of tuition, housing, and other fees.
- International Scholar Award (Full Cost of Tuition) – one international student will be given a scholarship to cover the full cost of tuition only for a maximum of eight semesters.
- Other Admitted International Students - all international students not granted the above grants will be eligible for other merit grants of up to $35,000 annually.
Grant Assistance for International Students
Hampshire College also offers financial aid or grant assistance to international student applicants with financial needs. These grants are renewable for a maximum of eight semesters given that the student is enrolled and has satisfactory academic performance.
