Cleveland State University (CSU) is a public research university in downtown Cleveland, Ohio, United States. It was established in 1964 and opened for classes in 1965 after acquiring the entirety of Fenn College, a private school that had been in operation since 1923. CSU absorbed the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in 1969. Today, it is part of the University System of Ohio, has more than 120,000 alumni, and offers over 200 academic programs.

Academic Programs
Cleveland State University offers over 1,000 courses that support 200 major fields of study in undergraduate, graduate, professional certificate, and continuing education programs. CSU also offers an Honors Program to students who are highly motivated and academically talented.

For Freshmen Students
- Cumulative secondary school GPA of 2.3 on the US grading scale (most programs)
- Proof of English proficiency
- A minimum total ACT score of 16, or a minimum old total SAT score of 770 (before March 1, 2016) or minimum new SAT score of 880 (after March 1, 2016)
- Official transcripts of academic work and completion certificates from each secondary school and university attended
For Transfer Students
- Cumulative GPA of 2.0 at all previous colleges and universities combined for most programs
- Proof of English proficiency

Intensive English Language Program (IELP)
Cleveland State University's Intensive English Language Program (IELP) was created to provide English instruction for those who need to improve their language skills before beginning their academic program. Students who apply to study at IELP must be 18 years of age.
Tuition and Fees
Tuition for international students range from $16,904 (bachelor's) to $28,408 (JD/Law). IELP costs $10,180.
